In Praise of ReStore

Habitat for Humanity has these tiny little things called ReStores. Actually, tiny isn't the word. Amazing would be better!

ReStore is basically a thrift store like Deseret Industries or Salvation Army, but they ONLY deal in house building/remodeling items. Carpet remnants, leftover hardwood floor boxes, cases of tile, fixtures, cabinets, appliances, doors, windows, you name it. We have already sourced our kitchen cabinets, sink, bathroom cabinets and sinks, front door, and the hardwood flooring for our bedroom from there. It's become a regular stop for us as we check things off our list.

The best part is the money goes to fund housing for people in need. Since we are pretty much low-income too, we are happy to help any small way we can.
